I am someone who likes to buy second-hand vintage pieces because they often tell a story and carry a unique charm that new items simply can’t replicate. However, I don’t want to be beaten over the head with the price, as I believe that great style shouldn’t come with a hefty price tag. Adding to my discussion on personal style, I wanted to create a wish list using an app I often use that helps me keep track of my favorite finds and keeps me organized. One app I’ve found particularly useful is one I enjoy buying second-hand vintage pieces from. eBay and I have been going steady since high school, as the thrill of discovering hidden gems has always excited me. I really started buying clothes there within the last 5 years, though, branching out from just books and electronics to explore the world of fashion, curating a wardrobe that reflects my personal style without breaking the bank. The variety available on the platform truly allows me to express myself through fashion, while also practicing sustainability by giving old pieces a new life.

  • 90’s knitwear. Mostly in grays, neutral tones and blacks of course.
  • Denim Skirts, especially in dark blue denim and cream beige.

I recently got a CJ Banks cream beige denim skirt about 9 months ago, and when I tell you it’s easily become one of my favorite skirts, I truly mean it. The versatile color allows me to pair it with a variety of tops, from casual t-shirts to more elegant blouses, making it suitable for any occasion. The fabric is soft yet durable, providing comfort throughout the day while maintaining its shape. I’ve received numerous compliments whenever I wear it, which only adds to my affection for this piece. Whether I’m going for a relaxed stroll in the park or heading out for a brunch date with friends, this skirt has proven to be a timeless staple in my wardrobe, effortlessly blending style and practicality. I’ve been able to style it during all seasons effortlessly.

  • Overlook Black Leather Jacket
  • Mob Wife Style Fur Coat
  • Engineering Style Motorcycle Boots (longer length)

I got myself a pair of calf Engineer style work boots for my 30th birthday, and they’ve become a serious staple in my wardrobe over the last year. Their rugged design not only offers comfort and support during long days but also complements various fashion choices I make. Jeans, skirts, dresses, you name it; they really add some grunge to the outfit, effortlessly blending style with practicality. I’ve found that these boots have a unique ability to elevate even the simplest looks, making them versatile enough for casual outings with friends or a day at the office. Plus, the way they age with wear gives them character, telling a story of all my adventures while remaining stylish and trendy.

  • Slouchy Leather Carry All Bags

Now to know me is to know that I love big bags. One of these I purchased recently and have enjoyed so far, appreciating its spaciousness and practicality for daily use. It definitely has me looking at more options, as I find myself drawn to different styles and colors that can complement my wardrobe. The thrill of discovering new designs and the excitement of potential purchases keep me on the hunt. Each bag tells a story and serves a purpose, making my collection not just a hobby, but a delightful passion that reflects my personality and lifestyle.

  • A Corduroy Jacket
  • 90’s Grunge Style Dresses (especially in floral prints)

I’ve always been a big fan of 90’s grunge dresses, as they perfectly capture the rebellious spirit and unique styles of that era. The loose fits and bold patterns resonate with me and allow for personal expression. I also love Betsy Johnson milk maid dresses; the combination of vintage charm and modern flair makes them a versatile option, especially as a plus size woman. The ruffled details and playful prints are incredibly fun and flattering. I’ve been eyeing several to wear with my beloved engineer boots and Doc Marten Mary Janes, as this pairing creates an effortlessly cool look that embodies both comfort and style. Each dress tells a story and reflects the diverse influences of the 90’s, making them a staple in my wardrobe that I can mix and match for any occasion.

  • Oval Shaped Plastic Eyewear

As a round-faced girl who’s worn glasses since the 2nd grade, I must say I looooove oval-shaped eyeglasses. Their unique shape tends to soften my features while adding a touch of sophistication to my look. As I grow more in my personal style, I’ve realized I enjoy using glasses as an accessory to elevate my outfit in a subtle way. I’ve discovered that my choice of eyeglasses can completely change my appearance and express my personality; so I want to acquire multiple pairs to swap in and out. Sometimes I will opt for bold colors or decorative frames that stand out, while at other times, I prefer classic, understated designs that blend seamlessly with my wardrobe. The right pair not only enhances my style but also boosts my confidence, allowing me to feel more put-together whether I’m heading to work or meeting friends for coffee. Embracing my glasses has become an important part of how I express myself and has truly transformed the way I view fashion.
